Dr. Ben Pennington has written a book that is a solid theological and exegetical Christological study. As his former pastor, I had the privilege to contribute in a small way to his gift. When you come across a talented educator like Dr. Pennington, you don't put him in a box and run him through church programs and activities. I believe a pastor's job is to make disciples of the members so that they are well equipped to do the work of ministry. The pastor must get to know the members. This is so important because it's God's mandate and the fruit of equipping is incredibly fulfilling. We looked around and realized that churches with intentional discipleship at its core were in great demand.

From the first day he and his family joined our church, Dr. Pennington was eager to grow as a strong disciple through the Sunday preaching, the small groups, and one-on-one meetings. Our young church had several men and women who "got it." Dr. Pennington was on that shortlist. These persons knew that our church leadership wanted them to grow deep in God's grace and help others do the same. We led people to take the Word of God seriously and that being a disciple was just the beginning. God wanted makers of disciples. I saw in Dr. Pennington what we searched for in all our members. That was someone faithful to follow our LORD and dependable when doing the work of ministry. He made himself available to engage with our outreach projects with a humble, teachable attitude. Dr. Pennington and his family were a blessing to the church and indispensable workers. I worked with Dr. Pennington when I discovered his passion for Christian education. We immediately made room for him to blossom in his gift. As the scripture says, "a man's gift makes room for him" Proverbs 18.16. Through Dr. Pennington's hard work, the church founded the Summerhill Learning Center. We wanted to reach the young people in our community productively and creatively. This was an exciting time for our ministry. The Summerhill program was one of the many ways God used Dr. Pennington in those early days of our church 30 years ago. Fast forward to 2021. I left the church to serve in a denomination. People are added to any church, and people move away to other pursuits. That said, I lost touch with Dr. Pennington for several years but recently reconnected through a mutual friend. It was a delight to discover how God was using him three decades later in such a powerful way. After all these years of ministry, one of the greatest joys of my life is to identify with what 3 John 1.4 says, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." Dr. Pennington was not only walking in the truth, but his ministry had propelled to a level that I don't think he nor any of us would have imagined. He is a master preacher, teacher, theologian, and writer. Certain books have what I call a long shelf life. They are read by thousands and are on bookshelves for what seems like an eternity. In my library, I have commentaries and study tools that I regularly use that have been around for centuries. These works were produced by inspiration and lots of perspiration. When I read Finding Jesus in Genesis: A Biblical Commentary on the Presence of the Preincarnate Jesus Christ, I was deeply moved by the amount of inspiration and perspiration Dr. Pennington put into his study. Dr. Pennington takes Luke 24:27, 44-45 and deeply examines the text in his book. He reaches back into Genesis and shows the presence of Christ from the beginning to the end of Genesis. He intends to examine all of the books of the Old Testament in search of Christ.

I think Dr. Pennington takes Old Testament Christological study to another level. I could have used his book in seminary. I studied Christology and frequently refer to my books and notes as I preach, teach, and write. I learned that studying the New Testament is imperative in knowing Christ. Moving to study our LORD Jesus in the Old Testament expands our deep understanding as we learn about HIS eternality. Dr. Pennington's book will have a prominent place in my library as I move forward.
I have never read anything with meticulous detail as Dr. Pennington's treatment of Christ throughout Genesis. He studies, chapter by chapter and verse by verse. He works through the subject as an astronomer would in studying the heavens' planets, stars, and galaxies. His work takes a high degree of inspiration, skill, and patience. Dr. Pennington imports large portions of the biblical text in each chapter. The reader does not have to go outside his book to find the references. He then exegetes, comments, and applies the truths in practical ways. He explains theological concepts and breaks them down to those readers who may not have had theological training. These are the skills of an educator, not just a writer. His approach enables this book to reach a much broader audience. It puts his study into the hands of an untrained reader in search of understanding. Prepare yourself for discovery. Every chapter will be like an excerpt out of a seminary lecture. Every page will explore verses that point the reader toward understanding the Word of God. We all know of books that we pick up and can't put down until finished. Dr. Pennington's study will hold your attention, but it is not a book you will finish in one evening. Instead, it is a study aid that you will continually reference as you work through the Scriptures. I am thankful for the time and work that Dr. Pennington has put into this valuable book. I believe his book will have a shelf life that will last for many generations.

Dr. Ben opens the scriptures by taking us on a trip through the Book of Genesis. He reveals to us the Preincarnate Christ in the first book of the Old Testament in the Bible. The challenge we have as New Testament Christians is reaching those who don't believe in the deity of Christ. By helping us understand the Book of Genesis in the Old Testament, Dr. Ben exposes the true mystery of the Gospel, which is Jesus Christ, the Hope of Glory. In each chapter of Genesis, he uncovers the lines that reveal that indeed, in the beginning, was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1) This book is constructed in short, easy-to-read chapters and is perfect for preaching, teaching, evangelizing, and prophesying. Finding Jesus in Genesis: A Biblical Commentary on the Presence of the Preincarnate Jesus Christ is a valuable tool for those who are searching for answers about just who Jesus Christ is.

I frequently make it my business to read books about Jesus Christ, my Lord, my life, and my Leader into a blessed eternity. Finding Jesus in Genesis: A Biblical Commentary on the Presence of the Preincarnate Jesus Christ is a real blessing to me and will be to you also. In it, Dr. Pennington gives us keys to unlocking the door to our understanding of Christ in Genesis and its relationship with the Gospel of Christ in the New Testament. This book is very engaging, penetrating the "why" behind the "what." Genesis is the "seed-plot" for the entire Bible. If you are looking for a "go-to" resource that will deepen your understanding of Christ and your love for Him, then this book is for you. Use it in your studies, and then share it with your small group. You will grow in your faith personally and publicly become bold in your witness.

Finding Jesus in Genesis: A Biblical Commentary of the Preincarnate Presence of Jesus Christ is an eye-opening journey through the book of Genesis. I had previously read
and taught the familiar passage of scripture in Luke 24:27, 44. The resurrected Jesus Christ stated that the entire Old Testament is his words that were written about him. However, Dr. Ben Pennington has shown the reality and the presence of the Preincarnate Jesus Christ in a way that I had never seen. The Body of Christ should take advantage of this kind of information that has been hidden from us in plain sight. This text will be helpful as a teaching and training resource in our Sunday schools and Bible classes. Dr. Pennington's book can be added to the curriculum taught to Old Testament classes. New converts might receive Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord more readily if they met him in Genesis as their eternal, everlasting God. This book can and should be a blessing to everyone from the street corner evangelist to church leaders in pulpits worldwide.

Finding Jesus in Genesis: A Biblical Commentary on the Presence of the Preincarnate Jesus Christ is a beautifully written, timely expository. It sheds a great deal of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding on who Jesus is, based on an analysis of scriptures. His book comes to us through Dr. Pennington's years of experience researching, teaching, broadcasting, and podcasting foundational biblical truths on various platforms, including his work as a member of our Eternal Life TV broadcasting team.

He brings such a fresh look to scriptures that I am convinced that this can only have come as a directive from the Lord himself. Nowhere is there a more comprehensive depiction of Jesus Christ from Genesis to Revelation. I highly recommend this book to scholars, churches for the newly converted, and Sunday school classes. Dr. Pennington's book will help you grow in your faith and fall in love with Jesus all over again. Be one of the first to get your own autographed copy, and don't forget your loved ones. It makes a beautiful gift.

Dr. Ben Pennington is an anointed and gifted teacher of the Bible. In this book, he does an excellent job of teaching on the presence of the Preincarnate Jesus Christ in the book of Genesis. Finding Jesus in Genesis-A Biblical Commentary on the Presence of the Preincarnate Jesus Christ is an excellent, well-written, and biblically sound  resource. Dr. Pennington's book provides clear evidence on the preexistence of Jesus Christ, the God of all Creation. He was actively present in the Creation, is the creator of all things in heaven and earth, and started the work for our salvation in the book of Genesis. The Old Testament scriptures reflect the undeniable reality of the presence of the Preincarnate Jesus Christ. I highly recommend this book to believers who are seeking to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and non-believers so they may accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Dr. Ben Pennington has written a book that will undoubtedly become an excellent resource for Bible students, whether believers or non-believers. Finding Jesus in Genesis: A Biblical Commentary on the Preincarnate Presence of Jesus Christ is well-thought-out, chapter by chapter, verse by verse expository. It brings illumination to the first book of the Pentateuch, Genesis. The book's introduction describes the work of the Preincarnate Jesus Christ as the producer, screenwriter, director, along with other titles in the book of Genesis and the entire Old Testament. He sheds new light on the undeniable truth about our Risen Savior.
His book reminds the reader of the many foundational doctrines and prophecies that Genesis provides. Understanding the book of Genesis is key to understanding the entire Bible, Old and New Testament. Each chapter that he reviewed speaks to the importance of each person, whether named or unnamed, that played a role in the coming ministry of Jesus Christ, the King of Kings. Every page of this book reminds the reader that a blessing is available even amid confusion, distrust, betrayal, and corruption. Even when we fall short, Jesus Christ is there for us! Thank you, Dr. Pennington, for your teaching and dedication to illuminating the Word of God!

Finding Jesus in Genesis: A Biblical Commentary on the Presence of the Preincarnate Jesus Christ is a must-read book for ALL!  Dr. Ben Pennington does a phenomenal job with cross-referencing scriptures to provide eye-opening evidence that supports the reality that Jesus Christ existed from the beginning. Although this book has a wealth of information, he takes complex scriptures and writes them in a way anyone can comprehend. His book helps the reader connect the entire Bible to who Jesus REALLY is. This book is excellent for bible studies, youth groups, ministers, and anyone who wants to grow more in the Word.

I've known Dr. Ben Pennington for over ten years and served with him within the Missions Ministry at our previous church. He was a person that God used to help me grow in the Lord through the many classes that he taught at that same church. So it was only fitting that he would write such a great book that would include three of his passions: Jesus Christ, Teaching, and Missions. Finding Jesus in Genesis: A Biblical Commentary on the Presence of the Preincarnate Jesus Christ will help those that want to grow in the Lord. The theology in his book is what you would receive as a Bible college student. His analysis gives the reader an in-depth understanding of the scriptures. This book will be a valuable resource to help believers defend the reality of the deity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as well as His presence in the Book of Genesis and throughout the Old Testament. I would encourage new and seasoned believers to read this book to get an in-depth perspective. I am confident this book will be a blessing to others.

Finding Jesus in Genesis: A Biblical Commentary on the Preincarnate Presence of Jesus Christ is an excellent illustration of God's plan of redemption for fallen humanity after the original sin of Adam and Eve. Dr. Pennington's book takes you back in time to the very beginning and details the reality of the eternal existence and deity of Jesus Christ. Our Lord and Savior made it clear that "before Abraham was, I AM." Jesus Christ is eternal and everlasting. He was, he is, and he will always be. This book is both entertaining and informative and will keep you on edge. You will look forward to reading chapter after chapter and find it hard to put down. Dr. Pennington's book illuminates the inspiration God gave Moses as he wrote the Pentateuch. Unfortunately, the information imparted in this book is rarely taught in Sunday School or weekly bible study sessions at church.

This book demonstrates God's superior knowledge and that his ways are higher than ours. Therefore, I highly recommend this book as an excellent resource for all churches, Schools of Biblical Study and Theology, Small Groups, and Christian Education.

Finding Jesus in Genesis: A Biblical Commentary of the Preincarnate Present of Jesus Christ provides a detailed chronological view of the Book of Genesis and presents evidence of the presence of the Preincarnate Jesus Christ in the Old Testament. Dr. Pennington shares proof in scripture that Jesus Christ's orchestration of our redemption began in Genesis and the Old Testament, not in the New Testament! I would highly recommend this book to all believers to read and gain a more comprehensive understanding of Jesus Christ's presence and redemptive work in the ENTIRE Bible, not just in the New Testament.

I have enjoyed attending many Christian Apologetics and Men's Bible Study classes taught by Dr. Ben Pennington. He is an anointed and gifted teacher with a wealth of biblical knowledge. Dr. Pennington has motivated me to constantly study the Word of God to get a better understanding of my Lord and Savior. His Jesus in Genesis broadcast and podcast series highlighted the work of the Preincarnate Jesus Christ in the book of Genesis. Dr. Pennington's book, Finding Jesus in Genesis: A Biblical Commentary on the Preincarnate Presence of Jesus Christ, continues the research he has done for his broadcasts and podcasts on this subject. In Luke 24:44, the resurrected Jesus Christ told his disciples the entire Old Testament is his words and is written about him. Jesus Christ stated he was present in Genesis and the whole Old Testament. If you search the scriptures, you will find him there! I recommend his book to everyone that is truly searching to get a deeper and more complete understanding of the work of Jesus Christ. He has opened for salvation for all that will believe in His name. I pray that God continues to use Dr. Pennington powerfully. The best is yet to come!

Finding Jesus in Genesis: A Biblical Commentary of the Presence of the Preincarnate Jesus Christ is intense and involving. As I have been reading it and enjoying it, I have found myself stopping to study the referenced scriptures. His book will draw you in and enable you to digest the material. Dr. Pennington's book increases your desire to read more to learn about the presence of the Preincarnate Jesus Christ in Genesis. I have shared this book with my brother, and we have had deep discussions as I told him my thoughts about it. This book is excellent reading material for new Christians just starting their walk with Jesus or someone who already has an intimate relationship with him. I want to share this book with my friends and my family.
